Naples Originals, a group of more than 30 local, independent restaurants in Collier County, is proud to announce the third annual Foodie Camp, a "cook around town" with Naples' celebrity chefs. The 2017 dates are October 16 through October 25, with two classes offered on most days.

Morning and afternoon classes are $50, and evening classes are $60. The price includes the instruction/demo, a light meal, a glass of wine, and the chance to win a raffle prize of a Foodie Camp apron (signed by the chef) and a $50 dining certificate.

The Origin of Foodie Camp

Naples is a hot foodie destination -- one of America's best -- and blessed with an abundance of chef-led restaurants and local celebrity chefs. Inventive, original and enterprising, these chefs are also tireless advocates for a variety of nonprofits and generously donate their time and talent year-round.

Many of the chefs are members of Naples Originals, a group of locally-owned and independent restaurants in Collier County, Florida. The "Originals" have long wanted to collaborate with a nonprofit in a culinary event that spotlights its chefs, engages participants, and fills a need in a town known for its luxury resort lifestyle.

The perfect partner appeared in a phone call from Chef Kristofer Jubinville, the chef for St. Matthew's House, who not only serves hundreds of meals each day to the homeless as well as to St. Matt's shelter residents, but also is an accomplished, creative chef who runs the organization's catering business. He had long wanted to collaborate with Naples Originals in a culinary event.

After just one meeting with Naples Originals board members, Foodie Camp was born! It is a series of chef-led, 90-minute cooking held at top area restaurants.

Ticket sales will benefit St. Matthew's culinary education programs and a Naples Originals scholarship for aspiring chefs.

‚ÄčOfficially called the Naples Originals Foodie Camp, it is a "cook around town with celebrity chefs."

Each 90-minute class is themed and includes hands-on demonstrations and generous tastings or meals. Guests will develop a range of skills and learn techniques to take back to their home kitchens. Students also receive a take-home Foodie Camp booklet.
